For Vibe you have only cover and DPS! I do think looking at a whole magazine issue would help your understanding. For cover, look at text and cover lines and explain don't describe. So for example how does the main cover line anchor the image? (clear link). DPS read the article and discuss journalistic style and also analyse the image - camera and mise-en-scene. Again find media kit for genre and target audience.
